Sugar Cane is a Japanese brand focusing on reconstructing the early days of vintage workwear history. The brand has roots that goes back to the 1950's but it wasn't until the late 80's that Sugar Cane started building the reputation for being one of the best denim makers in Japan. It is a well earned reputation they still deserve!

With this piece, Sugar Cane & Co brings back a true iconic garment produced by the notorious and legendary American work wear manufacturer known as Headlight. The brand was founded in the 19th century and remained in business up until the 60s but are still today known for manufacturing some of the finest work wear garments, mainly associated with railroad workers. 

The jacket is a four pocket work coat made in a most beautiful NOS stripe fabric given to Sugar Cane by Mister Freedom. It's a 7oz 100% cotton fabric in a stripe pattern where the dark stripes are indigo dyed which result in most wonderful patina over time. Wash and wear this jacket for years and you'll have a most beautiful piece for everyday use. A neat and rare detail is an inner pocket found on the left side of the jacket, not that common on this type of jacket.
